TeleHealth / virtual therapy

Do you prefer to talk with a therapist from the comfort and safety of your own home? Tele-therapy is here to stay! Meet with a therapist anywhere using a confidential platform for video / phone counseling sessions!  Once you schedule a telehealth appointment, a link will be sent to you by text or email, and at the time of the appointment, you just click on the link. You can save the appointments right to your calendar and sign up for automatic reminders. It’s super easy and very user friendly!

Tired of Zoom calls and longing for the personal connections again?  Meet with me in our private downtown Farmington office for sessions which are reimbursable by insurance. We are in-network for Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Care Network and can bill as an out of network provider for many other insurance plans. Stephanie is also a provider for Lyra EAP if your company participates with them. We also have a special cash rate and can work out a sliding scale rate for individuals with severe financial difficulties.

Why the Name "Amani"?

Stephanie Crane went on a mission in trip in 2013 which changed her life.  She went to the Pockot region of Kenya, where she was completely “off the grid” with no electricity, running water or plumbing for two weeks. She worked with and played with beautiful orphaned children, and she fell in love with their culture of gratitude, brotherhood, and joy. With no connection to the outside world, Stephanie felt a peace she had never felt before.
Upon coming home, Stephanie embarked upon a years-long study of simplicity, gratitude and peace, and after several years of planning  and preparing, Stephanie started Amani Life Counseling. The word “Amani” means “peace” in Swahili.
Amani Life is available for in-person counseling or telehealth visits. Stephanie came back into the office last summer after the restrictions were lifted, and is so happy to see more and more clients are choosing to be seen in-person. Just this summer, Stephanie was joined by another therapist to help meet the demands, and now Taj Edwards is also part of Amani Life Counseling, seeing clients via telehealth. Amani Life Counseling strives to meet the clients where they are, with the goal of helping them find their own ‘Amani Life’, feeling peace and restoring wellness into their lives.

The approaches we use are evidence-based and use a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MCBT).  We believe in active learning with worksheets and homework assignments. The office has a calming vibe to it which is warm & inviting but also fun and interactive with space for playing games or meditative stretching. Our eclectic style is unique, fun, personalized.

Telehealth sessions are also effective, screens can be shared to see worksheets and exercises online, and it feels just like you’re sitting across the table from your therapist!
